Staří MISTŘI Alte MEISTER Old MASTERS -DOTISK

U příležitosti otevření nové expozice „Staří mistři“ ve Schwarzenberském paláci vyšla stejnojmenná reprezentativní publikace, která představuje 100 mistrovských děl od renesance po baroko ze Sbírky starého umění Národní galerie Praha. Výběr prací sledoval následující kritéria: uměleckou kvalitu, časové zařazení díla, ikonografický a tematický kontext a formální i stylové vlivy. Záměrem publikace je více akcentovat dialogy, vazby a souvislosti v historickém a stylovém kontextu a poukázat na internacionální charakter českého umění v prostředí střední Evropy. Výběru děl předchází dvě úvodní kapitoly. První stať reflektuje dlouhou a pohnutou historii souborů vynikajících děl středoevropské provenience od starých mistrů. Druhá stať přináší vhled do dějin Schwarzenberského paláce, jenž je vynikajícím příkladem středoevropské renesanční architektury, která si ponechala svůj ráz i v době baroka a historismu, je výsledkem mezinárodních uměleckých kontaktů a tvoří mimořádný rámec pro mistrovská díla renesance, manýrismu, baroka a rokoka. 
Along with the new permanent exhibition Old Masters that has just opened in the Schwarzenberg Palace, an eponymous publication was released presenting 100 masterpieces from the Collection of Old Masters of the National Gallery Prague which cover the period from the Renaissance to the Baroque era. The following criteria were used to select the artworks: art quality, time of origin, iconographic and thematic context, and form and style influences. The publication seeks to further accentuate dialogues, relations, and connections in historical and stylistic context as well as highlight the international character of Czech art in Central Europe. The book starts with two introductory chapters. The first article reflects the long and disturbing history of collections of outstanding Central European artworks. The second article offers an insight into the history of the Schwarzenberg Palace, an excellent example of Central European Renaissance architecture that has retained its character throughout the Baroque and historicism periods. Furthermore, it shows the outcome of international artistic contacts and provides an exceptional space for the Renaissance, Mannerism, Baroque, and Rococo masterpieces. 
Anlässlich der Eröffnung der neuen Dauerausstellung „Alte Meister“ im Palais Schwarzenberg erschien die gleichnamige repräsentative Publikation, die 100 Meisterwerke von der Renaissance bis zum Barock aus der Sammlung alter Kunst der Nationalgalerie Prag vorstellt. Die Werkauswahl folgte den Kriterien: künstlerische Qualität, zeitliche Einordnung, ikonografischer und thematischer Kontext sowie formale und stilistische Einflüsse. Die Publikation zielt darauf ab, Dialoge, Verbindungen und Zusammenhänge im historischen wie stilistischen Kontext stärker zu betonen und auf den internationalen Charakter der böhmischen Kunst in Mitteleuropa zu verweisen. Der Werkauswahl gehen zwei einführende Kapitel voraus. Die erste Studie reflektiert die lange und bewegte Geschichte der herausragenden Werkbestände alter Meister mitteleuropäischer Provenienz. Die zweite Studie bietet einen Einblick in die Geschichte des Palais Schwarzenberg, der ein herausragendes Beispiel der mitteleuropäischen Renaissance-Architektur ist und sich seinen Charakter auch in den Zeiten von Barock und Historismus bewahrt hat; der Palast ist das Ergebnis internationaler Kunstkontakte und bildet einen außergewöhnlichen Rahmen für die Meisterwerke aus Renaissance, Manierismus, Barock und Rokoko.
